Description
Class Experience
Classes are taught once a week, with several sections offered throughout the week. For consistency, each week will have the same class taught to each of the different sections. The Current Class schedule by week is as follows: (Updated 04/27/2020) March 22nd - Proto-Punk and the band Death in the US March 29th - Tuareg music and the band Tinariwen in Saharan West Africa. April 5th - Underground hip-hop and the producer J-Dilla in the US. April 12th - Hindustani Music and Bansuri flautist Rakesh Chaurasia in India. April 19th - Post Rock and the band Talk Talk in the US and the UK. April 26th - Nor-tec (Norteña+EDM), The Nortec Collective, and the music of border towns in the US and Mexico. May 3rd - Underground Country and the artist Orville Peck in the US. May 10th - Mizrahi music and the artist Hadag Nahash in Israel. May 17th - Metal music and The Hu, other metal bands outside of the US. May 24th - Modern Singer/Songwriters and the artist Nick Drake.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
This class will most likely feature songs at various points that use explicit language/themes.
