Hi! I'm Ms. KD and I love to teach and talking all things science!

I create learning situations that are fun, interactive and meaningful because I know that we learn best when we are comfortable, allowed to be curious, and connected to what's important to us.

I believe in universal design, culturally responsive teaching, inclusive and equitable access to science, and in everyone's capability to learn.

My two favorite charts are the Periodic Table of Elements and the Chart of Electromagnetic Radiations.
I like gems and other sparkly minerals and rocks, but my favorite subject is biology and I enjoy relaxing from busy days with my Human Anatomy and Physiology coloring book. I love to be outside and notice the science happening all around us!

I teach biology, chemistry, environmental and earth sciences, physical science and engineering. I tutor in all those subjects, plus algebra and introductory physics.

As an informal science educator, I have taught and tutored online, in person, individual and small group, and in museum and learning center settings for over 20 years.

I have a Masters in Adolescent Education in the content/grade area Biology grades 7-12, and an M.B.A., and taught for over a decade at a K-12 Science Learning Center. I have taught lessons in general science, laboratory techniques, research basics and environmental stewardship, as well as teacher training workshops.
