Has your child chosen a vegetarian lifestyle or maybe your whole family is vegetarian? In this one-time class, students will learn some of the very important vitamins and minerals needed when living a vegetarian lifestyle. It is very important to make sure growing bodies get the adequate nutrition to develop and grow in a healthy manner. I will have a slide show presentation that will explain the 5 important food groups that need to be included into their meals and snacks each day. Students will learn what vitamins are most important in sustaining a vegetarian lifestyle. We will discuss what vitamins come from what foods and how to eat the necessary amount. We will discuss how to still eat protein and keep that part of the daily diet. I will share some sample vegetarian recipes that are kid friendly and easy for students to even make on their own. *Please note that this class is in regards to a vegetarian not vegan lifestyle. We will discuss eggs and milk products. At the end of class, we will make a quick vegetarian snack together for them taste and then they can enjoy it after class. I will provide materials that each student can print that will contain highlighted information of everything covered in class. This will be an easy resource and helpful for students to reference.
