In this 2 day class we will discuss the following topics. DAY # 1 -How our food has changed over time - Pre-Industrial Revolution vs Today -Compare whole foods that come from the earth vs foods that come from a machine or package. -What does fat do inside your body? Is your brain really made of mostly fat? -What are probiotic & prebiotic? What foods can we find them in? -DEMO - "Savory Herbed Yogurt Dip" with cut raw veggies for a great probiotic snack DAY # 2 -Do we think we drink...
Students will learn the basics of nutrition and overall wellness. A cooking demo will be given on the last day of class. They can participate and cook with me or just watch. A recipe will be included.
Certified Nutritionist and Certified Chef. BA from Pepperdine University.
No assigned homework just practice what you have learned.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
I will reference some helpful nutrition websites, videos and online health calculators (ie Water intake calculator) that will be given with the current weeks class curriculum.
