1 hour per week. The assignment is to complete a 'Basic Nutrition: Macronutrients Worksheet.' Students must fill out the worksheet by identifying the type of carbohydrate in each food (simple or complex), stating the name of the monosaccharide or disaccharide if the food is mostly made up of simple sugars, and indicating whether the complex food is high in fiber (by writing 'fiber') or low in fiber (by writing 'starch'). They must also identify the macronutrient in each food (carbohydrates, fat, or protein) by writing on the line beneath the picture. Finally, students must write five foods high in saturated fat, monounsaturated fat, and polyunsaturated fat inside the small arrows. For the multiple-choice part of the assignment, students must choose the best answer and write the corresponding letter on the line provided.Class Experience
