Number Talks: Math Skills for Young Learners

Class
Let's practice our mental math skills! This class will help your child visualize answers to math problems in their own way, using multiple strategies. Our goal is not just to get an answer, but discuss the methods we use to find an answer.

Class experience

By the end of this class, students will walk away with new ways to solve math problems, and to explain what methods they used to find their answers.
I have been a teacher for the last decade, specializing primarily in early literacy and writing, mathematics, and social emotional wellness. I love history and anthropology, psychology, creating art and music, baking, hiking, and more! My general approach to teaching is slow paced, warm, and encouraging. I meet the learner where they are, while giving them space to blossom at their own pace. I pride myself in using positive language and responsive classroom techniques to run my lessons.
