Number Talks! Building Addition and Subtraction Strategies (2nd & 3rd Grades)

In this ongoing class, learners will participate in a series of number talks with the goals of enhancing expressive math vocabulary and expanding strategy use.

Number Talks are discussions around a series of mental math problems. Students are shown the problem (dot cards, math problem, pattern etc.), solve it, and then share the strategy they used to solve the problem. Creativity is encouraged and all students could use a different method to explore and solve the problem.
