In this class, we will cover numbers 1-100. We will primarily focus on 1-20 because usually once a student masters those numbers, they can recognize the patterns in the higher numbers. Students should have a basic number sense (as in they've counted and/or seen numbers 1-10 before). I will engage the kids with movement while we count. I will also show them various ways that numbers can be shown. I will also have the kids write down numbers 1-20. These numbers tend to be written backwards when in school so the more practice, the better! I also ask that the student has small objects to count with so we can connect the tactile learning with their number sense.
Learning Goals
Students will leave this class having a better understanding of number sense.

Supply List
Students will need plain paper and pencil, marker, crayon (whatever your child wants to use!) Students will also need small objects to to count with (marshmallows, legos, crayons, cotton balls, etc)
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

I am a public school Kindergarten teacher and I love teaching the little ones! Their minds are like sponges and it's amazing to watch them learn and grow. I have been a Kindergarten teacher for the last 5 years and have taught a variety of learners, including those with speech difficulties and Autism. I know what kids need to be successful in Kindergarten and I teach a variety of classes based around the following skills- letter/sound knowledge, blending and segmenting words, sight words, decodable readers and a number sense class.One fun fact about me is that I have 2 dogs, a black lab named Jake and a Dalmatian named Comet (He looks just like Marshall from paw patrol!)
