Welcome to the BINGO Hall, Math Style! Students will get to play some rounds of the game BINGO virtually and practice number sense skills at the same time. In order to play, students will receive a virtual BINGO card through the ZOOM chat, and will have numbers called out. However, it will not be Just numbers, we are going to throw in some number sense. What this will look like (Examples): ~Look for the number that is 5 less than 20. ~The next number will be the sum of 2+4. ~If I skip counted by 2s from zero, 4 times, the number I land on would be my next BINGO number. Each time the students are presented with a problem, they will have the opportunity to work it out with me or with their peers, either mentally, with virtual manipulatives, or through pencil and paper. Students will not be left out if they get an answer wrong, it's all about practice (and yelling out BINGO when you win!)
Learning Goals
Students will be able to perform math problems that are posed in various ways either mentally, through manipulatives, or through written work.
