US Grade Kindergarten
In this ongoing class, 5-6 year-olds will find a relaxed, safe, fun space in which to develop both number sense (counting and skip-counting, 1-1 correspondence, concepts of adding and subtracting, and number recognition) and social skills (taking turns, listening, and good sportsmanship). Each week I will begin class by showing visuals and asking questions based on the topic of the week. Students will have the chance to answer the questions and chat with each other. We will connect these topics to number sense through discussion and activities. We will end class by playing a fun game together. All activities and games will be teacher-led and shared on screen, so students will not need to navigate any websites or technology on their own. Additionally, students are welcome to answer verbally or visually (holding up fingers, drawing on white board), so they will not need to use the keyboard or mouse.
