This is a 6 week class where the students will read through pages of The Losers Club each week. Each class we will be discussing the pages we read, going over vocabulary for the pages and answering discussion questions. Every student will need a copy of The Losers Club by Andrew Clements and each week they will need to read the pages before the next class. Students are expected to actively participate during class and with the assigned reading and discussion questions each week.
Learning Goals
Students will learn to establish and share their own thoughts while reading a book. We will be looking at new vocabulary for each of the chapters. Discussing what we think about what has happened, is happening and will happen as we move through the book.

Introduction

Parental Guidance
When Principal Vance lays down the law—pay attention in class, or else—Alec takes action. He can't lose all his reading time, so he starts a club. A club he intends to be the only member of. Alec works through his crush on a member of his club and how to handle a bully that used to be a friend.

Hi I am Teacher Kaylyn and I have been working with children in many different ways for over 15 years in many different ways. Most recently I have taught online for online since 2019, teaching ESL and here on Outschool. I have a 6 year old son and I am used to high energy fun. It is great when they figure something out and you can see something click. I love to read and I really like to do book studies to share that love with others. I have learned that to start a passion for reading you need to find the right books that you can't put down. I want to help others to their own books they are passionate about.
