Class Experience

Join me as we read The Library of Ever. A book about an 11 year old girl, Lenora, who magically finds a hidden library within a library where magical things happen as she becomes involved in helping keep this ancient library together while defeating the evil within.

Week 1 - March 7th
Week 1a: NO required reading before the first class. We will go over the reading schedule of this class, learn how to keep a vocabulary journal. We will discuss the summary and decide what this story might be...

We will learn to keep a vocabulary journal and increase our vocabulary
We will increase our critical thinking skills through games
We will deepen our reading comprehension skills through answering study questions
We will learn about calendars 
We will learn about the Dewey Decimal System
We will learn about libraries

Reading the required segments assigned. Please do not read ahead so we are all on the same page in our discussions and we can enjoy the book together as a group. If you do choose to read ahead, please do not share additional information with the class until we get to that part of the book.

Paper and something to write with such as colored pencils, pens, markers or just a pencil.
A notebook to keep a vocabulary journal

Questions will be asked before each class to be sure children know what happened in our story the class before.

1 hour 20 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
