This is a 6 week class where the students will read through chapters of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone each week. Each class we will be discussing the chapters we read, going over vocabulary for the chapters and answering discussion questions. Every student will need a copy of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling and each week they will need to read the chapters before the next class. Students are expected to actively participate during class and with the assigned reading and discussion questions each week.
Learning Goals
Students will learn to establish and share their own thoughts while reading a book. We will be looking at new vocabulary for each of the chapters. Discussing what we think about what has happened, is happening and will happen as we move through the book.

Introduction
We will introduce ourselves to each other; be sorted into Hogwarts houses; I will explain expectations of the class and discuss the book. 55 mins online live lesson

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone does deal with magic and the issues of Harry losing his parents.

Hi I am Teacher Kaylyn and I have been working with children in many different ways for over 15 years in many different ways. Most recently I have taught online for online since 2019, teaching ESL and here on Outschool. I have a 6 year old son and I am used to high energy fun. It is great when they figure something out and you can see something click. I love to read and I really like to do book studies to share that love with others.
