Note-taking is a fundamental skill essential for academic success, effective learning, and information retention. In this engaging and interactive course, students will learn the foundational principles and techniques of note-taking, empowering them to capture, organize, and synthesize information effectively across various learning environments. Using a step-by-step approach, students will develop essential skills and strategies to enhance their learning experience and achieve academic success. Students will be introduced to a new way of thinking about note-taking and learn how to “customize” their notes in a way that works for them. I will provide materials for students to practice note-taking outside of class (articles on science or history). Students are encouraged to share their notes with me so that I may provide feedback. Three note-taking methods will be taught: -- Outline Method -- Cornell Notes -- Doodle Notes Day 1 Why note-taking is important, the Outline method of taking notes Day 2 The Cornell method of taking notes Day 3 Mind mapping and Doodle Note-taking
