-Students will review six note-taking tips (don't color, use text features, define unknown words, use note sheets, check in with yourself, make your own notes). -Students will examine an informational text and highlight key ideas as a group. -Students will demonstrate knowledge of highlighting effectively and labeling an informational text independently.
I have taught middle school language arts for over 13 years. As a certified Reading Specialist, I've worked with students of all abilities on note-taking skills.
Assessments OfferedThe instructor will check in with students individually (via chat) during independent work time.
The guided notes and informational texts will be provided during class as Word documents. Students need access to Microsoft Word or Google docs during class to digitally write on and highlight the texts. *Students can also print the materials during class if he/she prefers to write/highlight on paper :)
