Each class will focus on a book from the Magic Treehouse book series by Mary Pope Osborne. We will discuss the novel in a book club setting by sharing our favorite parts, talking about Annie's and Jack's adventures, what we liked or didn't like, discussing what we learned, the characters, etc. The children will also complete an activity each week. This could be a castle drawing, making a short comic strip, writing a mini book about the Amazon or drawing yourself as a pirate(the complete list is below). These will be paper and pencil activities and will be posted in the classroom prior to class. 
Each class is independent so you can join or leave the club whenever you wish.
Class Outline:
-Introduction of the week's novel
-Book Club discussion
-Introduction of the Writing and/ or Art activity with teacher modelling
-Time to work on the activity and continued book discussion 
-Learner sharing
-Goodbyes
We will not be reading the novels, except for passages, in class. Learners should come to class having read the novel. The novels will be read in order. Learners are encouraged to bring their novels to class.
