Do you love bears? Well, I do! Come join the fun as we learn about the smart and curious black bears that call North America home. In this first class* of a two-part introductory series, we discuss: • Species of bear • Habitats • Hibernation • Offspring • Color We will create a KWL chart and record what we already know (K) about these animals. Then we will brainstorm and discuss some of the information we want to learn (W) about these animals and add this information to our chart. New material will be presented via lecture, PowerPoint, and video. Students will be encouraged to ask questions and discuss the material as it is presented. We will work together to add what we learned (L) to our KWL chart. With this new information, students are encouraged to create a book about North American Black Bears to share with their families and friends! **Note: These classes do not need to be taken together or in order.
