Welcome to Norse Mythical Creatures and How to Draw Them! Each week students will learn about a new mythical creature as they draw step-by-step with the teacher. These creatures can vary in form from monsters all the way up to human forms. We will also be drawing them in a semi-realistic art style. At the beginning of class we will start out by learning quick facts or stories about the creature or God of the week and then get right into drawing. If we have time for the second half of class we will take time to color or shade the creature. I will take the time to give them quick tips throughout the class that will help your learner to develop their artistic skills. At the end of class we will take a few minutes to show our drawing and say a few words about it. Below you will find the dates and subjects for the class. There will be three sections to choose from: ** Note** Class topics are likely to change on short notice. This is due to students who have creatures they may be interested in learning how to draw and give out ideas for future classes. Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Music or Theatre or Arts from University of Wyoming
Hello,
My name is Ms. Elizabeth Suriani, and I am a full-time artist from Northern Colorado. I graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a minor in Art History in 2016. While at the University of Wyoming I primarily studied 2D art style, including oil painting and print making. I also studied in Florence, Italy during the fall of 2015 where I studied architectural and figurative drawing, as well as fresco restoration.
Since 2015 I have been teaching art and art history to students ranging from ages 5-17 years old with lessons ranging from basic instructions, all the way to advanced classes and color theory for older students. I love teaching art and am currently teaching two international students in Italy and Thailand.
I have recently returned home from teaching English as a second language in Bangkok, Thailand with students aging from 2-16 years old. I loved working with my students and miss them dearly.
On top of being a full-time artist, I have also started my own jewelry business, as well as teaching English Language to children in China!
When teaching, I love to keep things fun and light. I believe that seriousness doesn’t do a young mind any good when learning art at an early age, it tends to discourage them instead. I want to help my students find art or anything they are passionate about and feel like they have a space to ask questions, experiment, and flourish.
I can’t wait to see you in class!
