30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
We'll combine various types of knowledge of the world with theatre, music, and dance concepts to inspire movement. I will offer at least 5 prompts for ways of exploring movement with at least 5 songs over the course of the half hour. Each class will offer constant opportunities for students to improve their improvisation skills within theatre, music, and dance, as well as enhancing their physical coordination and creative collaboration. Physical and emotional safety are vital to our health. My expertise in creating a safe and exciting environment will quickly have students offering ideas for our movement. Within each meeting, we will craft a unique journey together. From day to day, the class will evolve based on student's abilities, skills, interests, and personalities. Students will be celebrated for all safe effort, regardless of ability or skill.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I was the kid that would not go to dances in middle or high school because I was terrified to look stupid. Happily, I have overcome the fears that inhibited me from full-blown pursing the musical theatre career I would have enjoyed at a younger age. That background of fear has shaped my approach to successfully creating an equally fun environment for students who are quake at the word "dance" and who can triple pirouette. Decades of dabbling in dance fitness, jazz, ballet, modern, hip hop, and choreograph have given me confidence to choreograph numbers for a dozens of stage shows such as "Urinetown," "Once Upon a Mattress," and "The Full Monty." I've danced numerous styles in leading roles ranging from discoing as Donna in "Mamma Mia" to doing the charleston as Sally in "Cabaret," or from performing the iconic polka as Anna in "The King and I" to swing dancing as Ann in "1940s Radio Hour." Having led movement activities in dozens of courses for students ranging from 5 year olds to college students for over 15 years, I am thrilled to keep kids moving through virtual means.
