Description
Class Experience
My Writing classes are designed to engage students in all aspects of the lessons. They will be encouraged to share their ideas and their writing. They are also asked to give feedback and encouragement to other learners in the class. ALL writing will be celebrated in a relaxed class atmosphere. Learners will be encouraged to give feedback on the class, and to even suggest future lessons. We have future authors in the making! Each week is an independent class. This class is taught in English.
While writing creative and interesting pieces, learners will learn the specific strategies related to the six Non-Fiction Writing types.
The handouts are an essential part of this class. At times, it is impossible for learners to participate in some activities if they do not have the handout. They contain important class content that may be used in future lessons. Learners may be asked to bring non-fiction books or an item from home to class for certain activities. They may also be asked to bring coloring tools, scissors, glue, etc.
Learners are encouraged to share their pieces. They will receive oral and written feedback from me. They may also receive oral feedback from their peers.
1 hour 20 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
All curriculum materials will be teacher-created.
