Science & Nature
(Part 4) No Supplies Required Science Experiments: Collisions & Chemical Change
Fizzing is an indicator that molecular collisions are causing big changes! Let's cover a few basics so we can perform various reactions, capture the gases, and then identify the gases by observing how they respond to a flame.

Description
Class Experience
No supplies are required for this class, although I'm happy to provide more information about the chemical reactions (to grown-ups) for anyone who would like to try it out for themselves after class. An optional handout will be provided.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
This class is highly interactive, but not hands-on. While I emphasize safety and the need to involve grownups in these types of activities, I use flame to test various chemical reactions- be aware of young budding scientists inspired to try these things at home.
