Assessment
*The instructor will use Blooket quizzes and Edpuzzle as informal assessments, and will reach out to students/parents/guardians if student scores below a 70%. *Students are encouraged to submit the "Kickball" quiz and RACE response for feedback. The teacher will score assignments/send feedback on Fridays.
Grading
Grades on the Blooket and Edpuzzle activities allow the instructor to gauge students' progress and understanding of the material. Parents/guardians/students will be contacted if less than 70% is earned on one of the activities. Feedback/grading is also available for the quiz and constructed response.

Class Experience

US Grade 4 - 7
Taking tests can make students of all ages anxious and nervous. One way to reduce test stress is to make sure kids know what to do on a test. No Stress ELA Test Prep does just that! 

All types of learners are welcome, including struggling readers, or those who need some additional support (dyslexia, dysgraphia, ADHD, learning disabilities, language disorders, special education, etc.).

This one-week self-pace course shows students how to navigate an English Language Arts test step-by-step. It focuses on three main stressors- multi-step directions, test taking strategies, and RACE writing strategy. 

Day 1- Multi-Step Directions
*Students will watch a video lesson based on a PowerPoint and use the information to complete guided notes.
*Complete a practice activity and check their answers with the answer key

Day 2- Test Taking Strategies
*Students will watch a video lesson based on a PowerPoint and use the information to complete guided notes
*Students will complete a Blooket quiz

Day 3- Test Taking Strategies
*Students will read a nonfiction text, complete vocabulary chart and reading comprehension questions.
*Check work with answers video
*Complete an Edpuzzle activity

Day 4-RACE
*Students will watch a video lesson based on a PowerPoint and use the information to complete guided notes
*Students will complete a Blooket quiz

Day 5- Quiz
*Students will read "Kickball" (a short story) define vocabulary words, answer reading comprehension questions, and complete figurative language chart. 
*Students will watch answer video to review practice activities. 

Day 6-Quiz
*Students will mark up and complete a reading quiz on "Kickball"

Days 7-RACE
*Students will complete a constructed response using RACE

*Students are encouraged to submit the "Kickball" quiz and RACE response for feedback. The teacher will score assignments/send feedback on Fridays.

 Review multi-step directions through video lesson, guided notes and practice activity. 
Lesson 2:
Test Taking Strategies
 Review test taking strategies through video lesson, guided notes, and Blooket quiz. 
Lesson 3:
Guided Test Taking Strategies Practice
 Read a nonfiction text, define unknown words, answer reading comprehension questions, and check answers with video guide. 
Complete an Edpuzzle to practice test taking strategies. 
Lesson 4:
RACE Response Writing Strategy
 Review RACE response structure through video lesson, guided notes, and Blooket quiz.

Learning Needs
Guided notes are provided, along with instructional videos and answer keys. Please reach out to the instructor for specific accommodations and/or extra time.
Parental Guidance
Students will be using Blooket to complete quizzes. An account is not needed. Students will be using Edpuzzle to complete a practice activity. An account is needed. "Kickball" is a story about a 6th grade boy who is being raised by a single mom.
Supply List
Teacher will supply learning videos, guided notes, practice activities, "Kickball" short story and paper-based activities.
Students will need a pen/pencil and highlighter.
