Class Experience

A sketchbook is a great way to brainstorm ideas and keep practice sketches all in one place. Learn how to make one with me, step-by-step! In this 55 minute class, we'll learn book-binding vocabulary while we create our very own 100-page, no sew sketchbook. Parental guidance is suggested while using a hot glue gun.

Steps include:
Folding, "pancake stacking", and stapling 5 stacks of 10 sheets of paper
Creating a hard front cover, back cover, and spine
Cutting a cloth cover to size
Hot gluing...

8.5x11 copy paper (50 sheets)
8.5x12 piece of cardboard (can be from a shipping box, cereal box, etc.)
10x14 piece of fabric (can be old clothing)
Ruler
Pencil
Scissors
Marker to mark on fabric
Stapler and staples
Hot glue gun and 3 glue sticks

55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
