Class Experience
In this weekly ongoing class learners will learn debating and speech presentation techniques. Each class will be independent and unique, so learners may drop/in and out as they wish. There is also no preparation required for this class. Topics will be learner directed and different each week. Learners will be assigned a debate topic each week by spinning a virtual wheel containing middle school appropriate topics. Learners may form teams if enrolment allows and debate against one another....
Debating is a brilliant way to develop learner's skills in many areas, including: -Improving confidence in public speaking -Critical thinking -Being objective -Articulation of ideas - Time management - Working as a team - Research and preparation - Use of formal vs informal language - Summarizing information
I have a BA (Hons) degree in English Literature and currently studying a Masters degree. Qualified Literacy Teacher in Primary and Secondary Schools. Qualified English Language Teacher with TEFL.
Learners will not need any supplies for this class
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
