Description

Class Experience

Students will improve their practice skills, which have a direct correlation to study habits, too. That means they'll have more productive lessons and rehearsals and feel better about their music making. You'll see quicker improvement and a happier kid. They'll learn to focus on a problem and experiment to find ways to fix it. They'll learn how to break big problems into little, fixable bits. They'll have friends who will expect to see them at Practice Club each week, so there's a social component to practicing, which is very helpful with middle school aged kids.
The homework is whatever their teacher has already assigned. Practice Club is not an excuse to skip practicing for the rest of the week, but it will make practicing for the rest of the week more effective. If there's enough interest, I will add additional days and times.
Students will bring their instrument-ready to play, music stand, lesson music, metronome, tuner and any other materials assigned by their regular music teacher. Students need to be in tune before start of Practice Club each week.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Please check with your child's music teacher for assignment materials.
