No-Bake Desserts: Pie Edition
This is the pie edition of my No-Bake Dessert classes. It's an 8 week long, multi-day baking class, where we meet once a week, for 2 months. Each week students will get to make a different pie!

In each edition of my No-Bake Dessert classes, not only will each learner walk away from class with a delicious dessert to share with their families; they also will learn kitchen and food handling safety, at the start of class. We will also get into proper kitchen-hygiene skills as well. These will be fun, educational and delicious classes! The theme for this edition of No-Bake Desserts, is Pie! My learning goals for this class are for each student to walk away knowing how to take and read proper measurements, to read a recipe, and to have a detailed knowledge of the importance kitchen hygiene. Things like, properly washing our hands before cooking or to make sure our hair is pulled back and away from our table. Also to not sneeze or cough our work area as well. Kitchen safety is another important topic of discussion in this class. I will go through the importance of wearing heat resistance gloves when taking something out of the microwave and the proper use of kitchen utensils. I will make each dessert in class with the students in order to show everyone how to do each step. On top of all of that, each student will get to walk away with the instructions on how to make their desserts again in the future.
I have attended both Tops Cooking school and Tops Baking classes. I also have my food handlers and kitchen safety permit.
Ingredients list for your Root Beer Float Pies: 1 carton (8 ounces) frozen whipped topping (health conscious substitute - reduced fat) 3/4 cup cold root beer 1/2 cup milk (health conscious substitute - skim milk) 1 package (1 ounce) instant vanilla pudding mix (health conscious substitute - Sugar-Free mix) 1 9-in. graham cracker crust (about 6 oz.) Maraschino cherries, optional
55 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
We may have to occasionally chop and or melt certain ingredients. During those times, parental supervision or help is recommended to ensure no burns or cuts occur.
