This is the chocolate and peanut butter edition of my No-Bake Dessert classes. It's a 4 week long, multi-day baking class, where we meet once a week, for 1 month. (If you have allergies to peanuts, sunbutter can be used instead.)

Class experience

My learning goals for this class are for each student to walk away knowing how to take and read proper measurements, to read a recipe, and to have a detailed knowledge of the importance kitchen hygiene. Things like, properly washing our hands before cooking or to make sure our hair is pulled back and away from our table. Also to not sneeze or cough our work area as well. Kitchen safety is another important topic of discussion in this class. I will go through the importance of wearing heat resistance gloves when taking something out of the microwave and the proper use of kitchen utensils. I will make each dessert in class with the students in order to show everyone how to do each step. On top of all of that, each student will get to walk away with the instructions on how to make their desserts again in the future.
I have attended both Tops Cooking school and Tops Baking classes. I also have my food handlers and kitchen safety permit.
Ingredients list for Peanut butter Bars:

1/2 cup or stick (115g) salted butter, melted
1 cup (85g) graham cracker crumbs (about 8 full sheet graham crackers)
2 cups (240g) confectioners’ or powdered sugar
1 cup + 2 Tablespoons (280g) creamy peanut butter, divided
1 cup (180g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Sidenotes -

Butter - You can use salted or unsalted butter. If using unsalted, you will also need 1/4 teaspoon salt.

Peanut Butter - For best texture, I suggest a processed creamy peanut butter such as Jif or Skippy. (I do not recommend oily or natural style peanut butter for this recipe)

Students will also need access to a microwave and also measuring cups, whisks or a mixing bowl, an 8×8 or 9×9 inch square baking pan and aluminum foil or parchment paper to line the pan.
Sometimes we may need to melt butter, chocolate, or peanut butter in the microwave. One dessert also require using a stove top for one step as well. These are the only time that I ask parents to supervise and guide their children to ensure no burns occur.
