Description

Class Experience

I had a speech teacher in college who taught me that it was okay to be bad at speaking before I was good at it. She taught me that the floor wouldn't open up and swallow me if I stuttered and that no one would laugh at me if I forgot something I was supposed to say. Her rule was that fear shouldn't stop me. Because of her wise words, I was brave enough to try for a job public speaking. I got that job and was a corporate trainer for 7 years. I have since spoken in public, trained trainers, taught classes.

Almost 4 years ago, I created a small youth theatre group that specializes in teaching our students that it's okay to speak up.

I have provided all the scripts that we will use in this class, so come as you are.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Parents, you are always welcome to join your student in the class. For this class, it's probably better to stay off camera while we practice, but if the students agree, we'd love for you to join the last few minutes as we present what we've learned. Online learning has it's drawbacks for a live audience, and there is nothing as great as a live audience to help us to overcome the nerves and really get comfortable speaking publicly.
