Welcome to a young environmentalist's story time! In this class, learners listen to the wonderful story 'When Nilly Met Nelly, The Hungry Hungry Ele" written by Giavanna Grein and illustrated by Amelia Grace Gossman. The story is about a girl, named Nilly, who encounters a young elephant, Nelly, on her banana farm. She learns how to protect her family's banana farm yet still stay friends with Nelly the elephant. After the story, learners are engaged in a teacher - led discussion about the story. Learners who enjoy elephants, and/or other animals, are welcome to share their knowledge during the discussion. Learners are also encouraged to share their feelings about the story. This class allows learners to learn about elephants and the problems they encounter in their natural habitat. Every learner will have access the list of materials and instructions for the arts and crafts activity to do after class with family and friends. This class will cover subject areas like Science, Reading, Environmental Education, Expressive Arts, and Mindfulness. ***Please be assured that class will commence even with just 1 learner enrolled. Thank you to Giavanna Grein for allowing me to read her book "When Nilly Met Nelly, The Hungry Hungry Ele".
