Lesson 1:

Week 1: Introduction to Japanese and Pronunciation

 Students will be introduced to the sounds of the Japanese language and learn proper pronunciation techniques. This will set the stage for easy communication and speaking confidently.

Lesson 2:

Week 2: Hiragana

 Hiragana is one of the key Japanese writing systems, and students will begin to learn its characters. This week focuses on mastering the basics of reading in hiragana. A packet will be provided along with a chart for the student to work through the packet. They will be expected to complete Vowels through K-sounds for a online quiz in Lesson 3. 

The characters we will cover is:
Vowels: あいうえお
K-sounds: かきくここ

Lesson 3:

Week 3: Greetings and Important Phrases

 Students will learn how to greet others in Japanese, say goodbye, and use other essential phrases for everyday conversations. These skills will help them connect with Japanese speakers!

In addition, we will have a quiz in Lesson 3 followed by S and T sounds in the packet being assigned for Week 4 where we will have a online quiz.

Lesson 4:

Week 4: Introducing Your Name

 This week, students will practice introducing themselves in Japanese. They'll learn how to say their name and ask others for theirs, a vital skill for making new friends. 

We will work on basic Japanese grammar by learning about the "topic particle" and the "desu" copula which ends a sentence.

Following our online quiz for S and T sounds, we will then assign N through H sounds for the Week 5 quiz.

The characters we will cover is:
N-Sounds: なにぬねの
H-Sounds: はひふへほ
