Class Experience

US Grade 5 - 8
Historically, men have been viewed as the war heroes. When society thinks of women in war, we think only of their roles "back home." They had other roles, too, though.

In this class, we'll learn about WWII's "Night Witches," Finland's Women's Red Guard, Russia's Women's Battalion, Mulan, and more!

Lecture, discussion, pictures, and video clips will be employed. Meaningful participation is encouraged, but no one will be put on the spot to speak.

*Please note that the moral implications of war will not be discussed. This is not a class about whether or not what these women did was right, rather a class about the facts about their roles in historical wars.
