When it comes to shading with paint, it is very important to recognize that each shade has its own shape. Once you can see the shapes of colors in the face, putting together a 3-dimensional portrait becomes a lot easier. In this class, I show how each shade has its own shape using an easy-to-follow color palette (thermal filter). This teaches the student to easily recognize different shades and results in a colorful, unique-looking portrait. The first 20-30 minutes of class will begin...
Canvas paper will be needed- at least 11X14 inches. ACRYLIC paint- blue, red, yellow, black, and white. Paintbrushes ( a chisel blender brush and a fine tip detail brush recommended) Palette (paper plate) and some rags (paper towels) Water cup Pencils Rulers Erasers
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
