In this class we will start by preparing our watercolor paper with a masking tape border as well as masking off areas that will become our buildings. We will prepare our concentrated watercolor paints by thinning them with water and discussing how the water allows us to control how deep our colors get. Then we will paint our night skies and explore the interaction with water and paint on our paper. By using a hairdryer, we can quickly dry our paint, add more layers if we want to, and dry...
Watercolor paper (approximately 9” x 12”) Masking tape Concentrated watercolors (the kind in the tubes - any brand is fine!) A plastic palette or plastic egg carton (for preparing paints) A cup of water Various sized watercolor brushes An old toothbrush Paper towel Two widths permanent marker or pen (make sure it’s not washable maker or it will run when we paint on it!) A pencil and eraser A ruler Hairdryer
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
