Class experience
In this class, young learners will play along with me through a collection of math-based educational games. (Full list of games below.) I will try to play through at least three games in each lesson. If there is time left at the end of class, learners can pick the last game to play. This class is intended for preschoolers to practice their early math and number skills, starting with simple counting and building up to simple addition and subtraction. All games are at a very easy difficulty...
Students will improve their number recognition, counting, shape-identification, color-identification, and size-sorting skills. They will also have a chance to improve their addition and subtraction skills by advancing to higher levels, (we can also stay on the lower levels if that's where their skill-level lies,) and their social skills by playing with other learners.
I have been teaching since around 2007, when I began as a teacher's assistant in my parents' classroom, and have loved it ever since. I have taught reading, spelling, colors, ESL, object- and number-identification, science, and simple mathematics to children as young as 2 and as old as 15, as well as teaching crafting, knitting, and loom knitting to children as young as 7 and as old as 18.
As the games will be shared in a screen-share, learners won't need to bring anything to class.
I will be sharing the games in a screen-share, and the learners will participate either by calling out answers or circling them using the screen-draw tool, so no account on any outside site is needed.
We will be playing games and minigames from these pieces of software: Ohio Distinctive Software: Robot Challenge Ohio Distinctive Software: Carnival Math Millie's Math House
