Another NFL season is around the corner, and it’s sure to be filled with storylines, and narratives abound. Who are the up-and-coming stars in the league? Who are the teams to beat in the AFC and the NFC? Who will sneak into the playoffs and who will miss it? These are topics worth discussing for any big-time Football fan, and these are the topics that will be discussed in this class! Welcome to NFL weekly discussion, where we will meet to discuss all the hot topics currently in the league and everything in between. We will discuss who is in the MVP race, which teams are in the playoff hunt, which players are having the best impacts on their team, and the statistics that prove it. This class is an ongoing class for ages 14-17 and will be taught using a discussion format. The format for this class is as follows: Discussion of current events in the NFL (Records, statistics, games, trades, etc) Discussion of upcoming events in the NFL (Future games, Playoff picture, etc) Occasional look into NFL history This class is designed to be a standalone class from week to week. Learners are free to come and go as they please. No information from previous weeks is needed to gain the most out of the class upon joining! This class is geared towards intermediate and advanced football fans. Experience watching football is recommended for gaining the most out of this class. Any learner interested in this class will better understand the storylines surrounding the NFL season from a serious NFL fan! This class provides a welcoming and encouraging environment for learners to discuss the teams and players they love as well as teach critical thinking skills, football strategy, and make new friends with common interests.
Learning Goals
Students will be able to have an in-depth discussion with other passionate football fans about their teams, and the games from the past week.

Greetings parents! I'm Mr. McVay and I'm happy you came across my profile!
I have been in the field of Youth Development for over 14 years. I have a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Children's Studies, an M.S.Ed in Special Education for Grades 7-12, and am a Special Education teacher licensed in New York for grades K-12. I'm passionate about working with children and teens because helping develop our youth makes for a brighter future!
As an educator, I have four core principles that I believe in deeply and guide my educational practice:
1. Teaching should be inclusive and culturally responsive
2. Building skills are essential
3. ALL children have the capacity to learn!
4. Support goes beyond academic needs; learners need to be supported socially and emotionally as well
My classes here on the Outschool platform are centered around some of my passions. As a math Special Education teacher of over 8 years, I'm passionate about teaching math to neurodiverse learners who may struggle in a traditional setting. Over the years, I have been told I am a patient educator who can break down topics into simple, easy-to-understand pieces. I'm also passionate about helping teens understand what the world will soon become and not what the world is currently. We are in the midst of a global transition in how business is handled and conducted. We are moving towards a society increasingly dominated by digital technology. It's important to prepare our children for the world they will one day inherit, not the world that will soon fade away. For that reason, I offer classes centered around Artificial Intelligence, financial literacy, Online businesses, and the Metaverse.
Something personal you should know about me is that my hobbies include watching and discussing sports such as the NBA and NFL, following the stock market and cryptocurrency, day trading, and working on my online businesses!
