|News Around the World: Science- Life-Saving Invention by Brothers in Ontario

2 Ontario brothers invented a life-saving blood flow probe small enough to put in rescue worker kits. Learn about this current event using the who, what, where, when, and why! A jeopardy game at the end reinforces what they've learned.

Description

Class Experience

At the end of the class, students will be able to say, "I can tell you why doctors want to measure blood flow." "I can explain what two brothers in Ontario invented for heart patients." "I can tell you when we might start seeing our emergency medical technicians carrying these devices and how I feel about it."
I have a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and have worked in science fields all of my life. I worked in the chemical industry, the automotive industry, and the computer industry. I've also traveled and dealt with companies in many countries. Teaching this specific style of current events class has been my joy for a long time! I have 16 years of experience teaching middle and high school classrooms, and specifically delivering instruction at that level on the topic of social studies, world geography, and current events. I've also taught worldwide in multi-cultural environments in industry, and have several years experience teaching on online platforms.
