Baby turtles found in Cambodia! Join us as we use a current event to learn about Cambodia and an endangered species of turtles! Find out where Cambodia is and what its capital, bordering countries and prominent landforms are. Learn a brief timeline of its history and how Cambodia fits in context with our world as a whole. Everyone thought these royal turtles were gone forever! Extinct! Until one day, scientists in Cambodia spotted a few on a fresh water beach! Over the years scientists...
Students will learn about the geography, culture, and a current event happening in Cambodia. They will gain knowledge of key vocabulary and concepts surrounding the news event of endangered turtles being discovered and nurtured so that they hatch and can propagate the species.
Teaching this specific style of current events class has been my joy for a long time! I have 16 years experience teaching middle and high school classrooms, and specifically delivering instruction at that level on the topic of social studies, world geography, and current events. I've also taught worldwide in multi-cultural environments in industry, and have several years experiences teaching on online platforms.
