US Grade 2 - 4
New York City is one of the largest cities, and its history plays a part in not only the history of the US but of the world as well. In this 30-minute class, learners will get to test their existing knowledge and to learn new knowledge on New York City’s landmarks. - The class will be set-up as a trivia game, with game rules stated at the start of class. - For every question, which will be multiple choice, each will have an opportunity to guess the answer. - After that, the correct answer will be revealed and a live tally board for each learner’s points will be updated. We may cover 15-20 questions during the game period. - At the end of each game, the winner will be declared an “honorary Mayor of New York”. - We will then discuss what new information we learned from the game. - After each class, I will message parents with a copy of each participant’s “virtual key to the city” certificate they will earn for playing in the trivia game. There is so much for us to learn about New York City. I like offering the trivia game as part of my teaching approach to show that learning can be fun!
