Description

Class Experience

Welcoming a brand new sibling and no longer being the only child can feel a little overwhelming. This class will prepare learners for this new stage of their lives while also acknowledging their feelings. Ms. Sara will be using props in this lesson such as a lifelike baby doll and a swaddle blanket.

We will learn various topics related to a new baby such as toy safety, helping out with diaper changes, and meal times. At the end of the class, you will receive a congratulatory big sibling...

Learners will obtain helpful life skills about being a successful big brother or big sister.

Ms. Sara has elementary school teaching experience, is the eldest sibling to two younger sisters, and a mommy to two little ones.

No mandatory homework but Ms. Sara highly recommends some wonderful books to read aloud to your child that will motivate them as they wait for their new sibling: The New Baby by Mercer Mayer, Waiting for Baby by Rachel Fuller, or The Berenstain Bears' New Baby by Stan and Jan Berenstain. There are specific books (and bilingual) books for sisters and for brothers and I would be happy to send you a message with those recommendations!

Supplies are optional but learners can bring a diaper, a stuffed animal, and an empty baby bottle.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

No assessment will be given.

30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
