Description
Class Experience
Students will be able to experiment and create beignets from scratch which will help build their self-confidence, understand New Orleans culture and lay the foundation for cooking/baking skill at home.
Homework link will be posted in the classroom 3 days before class.
Ingredients : Bread flour, active dry yeast, butter, sugar, milk, baking powder, eggs, vanilla extract. powdered sugar, brown sugar and canola oil (for frying). Equipments : Mixing bowls, knife, frying pan, tongs, a cooling rack or paper towels, baking pans, parchment paper, plastic wrap, medium saucepan and a small sifter.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Parental guidance is recommended for younger students as we will be in the kitchen and there are hot appliances and other hazardous things in the kitchen.
