In this weekly course we will make, discuss and enjoy all the wonderful flavors New Mexican food has to offer. I will walk you through step by step on how to delicious meals that the entire family can enjoy. We’ll discuss safety when dealing with hot items, both ingredients as well as kitchen items, and how to expand on your cooking skills. Have allergies? I’ll walk you through any substitutions that can be made for each dish. Just let me know! Remember! New Mexican and Mexican dishes often contain spicy elements. While the chile extends the flavors, you’re free to make it as spicy as you like and there’s always the option to put it all on the side, just in case. Be on the lookout each Sunday as I’ll post a recipe card for our meal that week. At the end of the lesson, you’ll have a wonderful collection of authentic New Mexican and Mexican dishes to satisfy you for years to come! Hi there! I’m Tabitha Rivera and I am happy to meet you. A little about my background, I have a degree in English and Creative Writing and have been an online teacher for 6 years now. I also have 18 years teaching experience in a classroom setting in daycare, tutoring and homeschooling. I love learning and believe that everyone should have something fun to learn and grow with. I enjoy fostering in a student’s learning by providing thought-provoking out-of-the-box lessons that keep my learners asking questions and thinking long after the lesson is over. I also believe that learning should be fun! My classes provide hands on lessons that get my students moving and learning in new environments. My favorite part of teaching is answering my student’s questions and seeing them make new discoveries while following their passions.
I currently live in New Mexico with my daughter and 2 dogs. In my free time I enjoy working on writing my book, reading, traveling, cooking and baking. I also love to learn new languages and about every culture. I currently can speak 6 languages and look forward to adding more to my collection.
