US Grade 3 - 6
In this one-time class we will learn about neutron stars. We will explore what neutron stars are, how they form, and what do we really know about them. Students will examine the different parts of neutron stars and discuss the roles they play in our universe. We will investigate questions such as: What is a stellar remnant? How does gravity warp spacetime? What is the difference between a black hole and a neutron star? What happens when neutron stars merge? Are neutron stars actually stars? What is the difference between a magnetar and pulsar? How do we study neutron stars? The class is lecture and discussion based. Learners will view and participate in a presentation full of images and some videos. They will have the opportunity to ask questions and think critically about space!
