Neurodiverse Social Group - All Inclusive - Ages 16-18
What's included
1 live meeting
50 mins in-class hours per weekClass Experience
Students will participate in conversations with their peers. I will encourage them to talk about their special interests and get to know one another. Because this class focuses on social skills, I feel it is important for students to be able to have a say in what we are talking about and what games are played. This means that the class is very student-led. Each week we will start by greeting everyone and doing introductions if we have any new students. After that, we will give each student a chance to share what they have been up to lately. The rest of the class students will have input as to what they would like to talk about but I will have discussion questions and games ready as needed. Discussion topics will vary but examples include: What is your favorite animal? What do you like to do for fun? Have you seen any interesting movies you would like to tell us about? Do you have any pets? Games may vary but examples include: Would you rather 2 truths and a lie Lights Out (virtual hide and seek) Emoji Match Emoji movie game Mad libs Story game Muted game The Background game This is a great way for students to make friends and build social skills. Students with all levels of verbal ability are welcome but students who do not have a way to communicate over video chat will likely not get much from the group. If you have any concerns please contact me and I will try my best to make sure your child can participate in whatever form of communication they use.
