Nervous System- Life Science Anatomy Virtual Trip!
Students will learn about human Biology and the nervous system through a dynamic virtual journey! We will explore the brain functions, neurons, cells, lobes, anatomy, neurological, and physiological process that take place. There will even be a fun review game as a portion of our final class.
What's included

🧠Our brain is made up of over 100 billion neurons. We receive information from the inside and outside. Just think of the last time you were hot or cold, what do you think was happening? Students will get to experience a great journey learning about this marvelous organ! 👉Students will uncover and learn about the following areas in this short course: Class I: Anatomy of the Nervous System- Review of individual structures. Class II: Inside the brain: Major regions and what happens where (Cerebellum, Corpus Callosum, Cerebrum, and Brain Stem) Class III: Parts of Nervous System: Peripheral and Autonomic 🔹️We will discover the structures through dynamic images and simulations into this fascinating system. There will be plenty of interaction and guided questions as we take our journey together. This active learning process helps students understand and remember the anatomy and major processes involved. Students can even see how their brain remembers items we see throughout our day in one of our simulations! 🎲At the end of our final day, we will play a game and review what we've covered in all classes. This is so much fun! We will work together as a class as we wrap up with this review game. **I will post a lab sheet diagram for the students to bring to class and we will work on this together as we are learning. This will be posted in the classroom prior to our first meeting. **Students will also receive an optional homework assignment after each session which will be posted in the classroom. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Learning Goals
Students will learn about the Brain and the dynamic ways it can help our body adapt to life changes whether it is internal or external. They will gain an understanding of the various structures, regions, and how they interact together.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree from Pennsylvania State University
As a Registered Nurse who specialized in Cardiology for over 10 years, I've always been fascinated by the heart, respiratory, skeletal, and nervous systems. This class gives me the opportunity to teach children about this specific system and its significance in the body. I traveled many years in the field of Cardiac Consulting to assist with the implementation of Cardiac Surgery centers throughout the country. Bringing this learning opportunity to children is a passion of mine. Young learners are like a sponge and open to grasp complex anatomy when presented in this unique format. I truly enjoy seeing the children's expressions when they learn fun facts about the Nervous system!
