Assessment
Assessment: As an introduction to measurement and data semester in mathematics program I will assess the students' mathematical knowledge and reasoning skills with a quick inventory assessment of skills. I will complete informal assessments throughout the lessons. First, during the student's active engagement at the beginning of the lesson. Then, during the middle of the lesson during student application of new skills. At the end of the lesson, I will be assessing the students completed assignments and tasks completed in class.

Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 3
Class experience section:
This math class is presented to grade 2 students and has been developed using all the second-grade common core state standards for mathematics to develop the course of study for second grade students throughout the year.
Each month the students are introduced to a new math topic and concept presented in a semester format. This means that students can join the semester classes based on their needs to learn and review a specific skill.
The overall structure of each lesson includes the following components: The lesson starts with a review of prior knowledge and a connection to the math skill. Next, the lesson introduces new math concepts, and the students discuss and apply their newly learned skills.
Finally, the students complete a lesson activity so I can monitor their understanding of the new concept and provide more instruction if needed to understand new skill.
Below is a detailed list of scope and sequence and specific meeting titles and dates that will be presented through a power point presentation in our new bitmoji classroom where students will meet to conduct their lessons and complete their math assignments.

Throughout my tenure as an elementary and special education classroom teacher I have taught math to a wide range of levels. From kindergarten to 9th grade algebra and whole class/group instruction to small group intervention. I have taught different types of math programs from the traditional to investigations programs. I feel that each of these math programs have different strengths and weaknesses. I feel teaching a combination of new strategies and traditional techniques help students strengthen their mathematical reasoning and applications skills in mathematics.
