In this 4 day class, students will learn to add, subtract, multiply, and divide positive and negative numbers. I will give them easy tips and tricks to solve each problem. It is recommended that students NOT have a calculator. This class is designed to help students learn how to quickly solve each problem independently. The class will mostly be lecture with open discussion throughout. I call on different students periodically so if this is an issue, please let me know ahead of time. No prior knowledge is needed for this class. Students will have the opportunity to annotate on my screen to practice problems if your device allows. If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to reach out! Schedule: Day 1: Adding and subtracting tips and tricks using models. Day 2: Tips for adding and subtracting using mental math. Day 3: Multiplication and division tips and tricks. Day 4: Game to reinforce and test retention
