Beginner Level
So you want to crochet, but you are lost as to what all these acronyms mean and how many skeins you need, what even is a skein?! Not to worry! This 6-week course goes over the basics of yarn, hooks and hooks sizes, yarn weights, and even how to read written patterns. No need to feel lost any longer!

This course will also teach you the basics of how to start and finish any project, the different basic crochet stitches most commonly used in patterns, and get you started on your first project. Join me in the wonderful world of crochet!

Students will be able to interact with the teacher live and ask questions Lecture with detailed slides and handouts are given for students to view Live demonstrations throughout the course

During the 6-week course, content builds upon previous lessons taught throughout the course each week. Consistent attendance is highly recommended and encouraged.

Lesson 1:
Week 1
 *What to look for when buying yarn 
*What a skein is
*How many yards for a project
*The different types of yarn
*Different sizes of hooks
*How to read a pattern

Lesson 2:
Week 2
 *How to start crocheting:
*How to tie a slip knot and start a chain.
*Learning and Practicing -single crochet stitch -double crochet stitch -half double crochet stitch -triple crochet stitch
*Students will then learn how to start a square and turn their work.
*Show what they learned by making a single square with their favorite stitch.

Parental Guidance
Dangerous Supplies: students will be using small objects that may present a chocking hazard. Please supervise your children when using smaller objects like yarn needles and stitch markers.

a ball of medium weight (4) yarn in your favorite solid color yarn needles
