Class Experience

In our three-day camp together, we will be discovering a variety of unique animals from different continents. We will be locating the seven continents on a map, zooming in on one specific country each day, and learning about an animal from that country. We will unearth various kinds of animals like reptiles and mammals. The learners will have fun uncovering a distinctive animal’s habitat, diet, and behavior. During our camp, everyone will be able to actively participate in discussions and activities. A slideshow will be presented daily to highlight information on different species of animals.

An animal will be presented each day of camp:

Start date: TBA
Day 1: Madagascar
Day 2: Mongolia
Day 3: Estonia

Start date: January 22nd
Day 1: Indonesia
Day 2: Iraq
Day 3: Paraguay

You may choose to join the Madagascar camp, the Indonesia camp, or both!

Learners will gain a greater understand of the diversity of animals from around the world while exploring unique countries.

These camps are a great way to explore the animal kingdom, and practice geography too. No prior knowledge is needed; all can join. These three-day camps will be a splendid way to experience many of nature’s wonders from all over the world!

Welcome!

It continues to be a privilege to teach on Outschool, and a joy to be able to reach learners around the world. I’m Shelmika or Mrs. Seashell, and I am just as excited to be teaching today on Outschool as I was a year ago.

I was a Homeschool parent of three, but all three of my children have graduated as of May 2023, and now attend different universities across the US. As I enjoyed the daily experience of teaching my children, I also had the opportunity to volunteer as a pre-school teacher. Additionally, at a local school district, I worked as a Social Service Advocate, supporting learners outside the classroom. I have a Bachelor’s of Science degree, and have completed some graduate education coursework as well.

As a teacher, I especially enjoy exploring the world around us through nature studies. Therefore, my Outschool library of classes will mainly include Science/Nature classes. During each class, I enjoy participation from all learners, so discussion is encouraged, and I endeavor to create a safe and relaxed environment with engaging material that will boost a learner’s interest, and thereby their love of learning.

I’m excited to guide your learner on their knowledge quest, and I hope to see them soon on Zoom!

Please contact me if you have any questions or comments. Thank you.
