Class Structure: Inspiration Exploration: We'll start by delving into the world of flowers and plants. Each class will feature a different botanical theme, allowing students to discover the unique characteristics and beauty of various plant species. Planning Stage: After drawing inspiration from nature's wonders, we'll move into the planning phase. Students will sketch out their vision and design for their mixed media collage, taking into account the colors and textures they want to incorporate to create their artwork. Painted Paper Preparation: Next, it's time to bring our visions to life! Students will create the painted paper they'll use in their collages. Through guided instruction, they'll experiment with different painting techniques, texture, and color combinations to achieve the desired look for their botanical compositions. Cutting and Collaging: With painted paper in hand, students will take on the process of cutting and assembling their collage elements. Using scissors and glue, they'll carefully piece together their botanical creations, layering textures and shapes to build depth and visual interest. Adding Details: The final step is to add those special finishing touches! Students will use paint pens and fine line markers to embellish their collages, adding intricate details and highlights that bring their botanical artworks to life. Each class session offers a unique opportunity for students to explore their creativity, develop their artistic skills, and connect with the beauty of nature through the medium of mixed media botanical art. As budding artists, students will have the opportunity to express themselves freely in a supportive and nurturing environment. Through guided instruction and hands-on exploration, students will gain confidence in their artistic abilities and develop their own unique style. Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello there! My name is Kristi! I am a homeschool teacher and an art teacher in Texas! I have 2 children that are in 11th & 7th grade this next year! I absolutely love being involved in my kids education!
I am the owner of Wolf Circus Art Studio and Evolve Volleyball Club. I teach art classes for Pre-K to 6th grade, host art parties, teach macrame, and make pottery. I have been teaching art lessons for over 10 years and I love connecting with children through art! I have experience teaching lessons in a private art studio setting as well as summer camps and online.
I also am the Art & Crafts Director for a non-profit called Salute the Kids. Salute the Kids is a charity that supports military children and families through camping adventures. I create and teach all of the arts and crafts projects and host a family art night at camp. Working with military children is such a gift.
I am so excited to be here on Outschool with the opportunity to teach, connect, and create some really cool art with your artist! I most certainly know I will learn and be inspired by them as well!
When I am not teaching you can find me hanging out with my family, making pottery, playing volleyball, taking care of my cacti, or trying to talk my husband into rescuing another Chihuahua. You can never have too many Chihuahuas ;) I have 5 now!
Hope to see you in class!!
