In this one time class we explore animal adaptations together! What is an adaptation? What is the difference between a physical and behavioral trait? How do various adaptations help an animal to survive? Through pictures and drawing we will learn all about wildlife adaptations and how these physical and behavioral traits help animals to survive. We will explore camouflage, warning coloration, mimicry, migration, hibernation and more! Learners will be encouraged to choose and design animals to practice identifying adaptations, ask and answer questions, share stories, and have fun with this class! No prior experience or knowledge is required. Check out other classes in this collection! Adventure of the Water Droplet! Teacher expertise and credentials
Professionally I have accumulated over 3 years of experience working as a Teacher/Naturalist at two different outdoor learning centers. In both roles I taught environmental education programs as school field trips, scout programs, birthday parties, one-off programs, multi-week series, summer camps, and more. I also had the opportunity to create my own curriculum for after school and weekend programming and offered a variety of course options. I have always enjoyed empowering young people to find a way to love learning, and I hope to use this collection of experience to share knowledge of nature and inspire learners to explore outdoors through our classes together.
